How Late Can You Check Into A Hotel?

Most hotels allow check-in anytime up until 11PM or midnight. After that time, you may be considered a "late arrival" and be required to pay an additional fee, usually $25-50.

If you plan on arriving late, it's always best to call the hotel in advance to let them know your estimated time of arrival and make arrangements. Some hotels are more flexible than others for late check-ins.

After midnight or 1AM, the front desk staff likely won't be able to check you in right away and you may need to wait until they have a room ready. So plan for the latest you want to arrive to be around 11PM if possible to avoid any potential hassle or extra fees.

Keep in mind weekday nights tend to be stricter than weekend nights for late check-ins. Holiday periods also see less flexibility. So call ahead if you expect to arrive after 10PM to confirm the hotel's late check-in policy for that specific date.
