Here are the steps to breed clambles:
- Find a male and female clamble.
- Place them together in an aquarium tank with gravel substrate and decor.
- Maintain water conditions of 78-82°F with a pH between 8.0-8.4.
- Feed them a varied diet including algae wafers, brine shrimp, bloodworms, and vegetable flakes.
- When breeding, the female will dig a hole and the male will fertilize her eggs. She will then guard the eggs.
- In about 2-3 weeks, the eggs will hatch and tiny clambles will emerge. Remove parents at this time.
- Care for the fry with finely crushed food and frequent partial water changes.
