Here are the steps to breed clambles:

  1. Find a male and female clamble.
  2. Place them together in an aquarium tank with gravel substrate and decor.
  3. Maintain water conditions of 78-82°F with a pH between 8.0-8.4.
  4. Feed them a varied diet including algae wafers, brine shrimp, bloodworms, and vegetable flakes.
  5. When breeding, the female will dig a hole and the male will fertilize her eggs. She will then guard the eggs.
  6. In about 2-3 weeks, the eggs will hatch and tiny clambles will emerge. Remove parents at this time.
  7. Care for the fry with finely crushed food and frequent partial water changes.
