How To Cook Rice?

Here are the basic steps to cook rice:

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Place the rinsed rice into a pot with the required amount of water.
  3. Bring the rice and water to a boil over high heat.
  4. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a lid, and simmer for 20 minutes, or until all the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  5. Remove the pot from the heat and let sit, covered, for 5-10 minutes before serving.

For white rice, a common ratio is 1 cup rice to 2 cups water. For brown rice, use a ratio of 1 cup rice to 13⁄4 cups water. Season and enjoy your fluffy rice!
