To deactivate your Facebook account:
- Go to your Facebook profile page
- Click the down arrow that appears in the top right corner of any Facebook page and select "Settings"
- Select "Your Facebook Information" from the menu on the left
- Select "Deactivation and Deletion" from the sub-menu
- Click on "Deactivate your account" and then confirm by re-entering your password
- Your account will be deactivated and you will no longer be able to login or access Facebook for 30 days
- After 30 days your account and all your data will be permanently deleted from Facebook's systems
To reactivate your account at any time before the 30 days, simply sign back in with your username and password.
