Here are the basic steps to draw a dress:
- Draw an upside down U shape for the top of the dress. This will form the neckline.
- Draw two straight lines coming down from the neckline to form the shoulders and straps of the dress.
- Draw curved lines coming down from the shoulders/straps to form the sides of the dress.
- Draw a curved line across the bottom to form the hem of the dress.
- Optional: Add details like sleeves, pockets, pleats, bows, etc. You can also draw the shape of the body inside the dress for reference.
You can draw the dress freehand or use a ruler or shape templates to help you create even lines and angles. Start with simple dress shapes and practice to develop your skills at drawing different dress styles. Adding color is also optional once you have the basic dress shape drawn.
