How To Force Quit On Mac?

To force quit an app on Mac, press Command + Option + Escape. This will open the Force Quit Applications window. Select the app you want to force quit from the list, then click Force Quit.

If the app is frozen and won't respond, you can also force quit it from the Dock. Find the frozen app's icon in the Dock and right-click (or control-click) on it. Select Force Quit from the menu that appears.

As a last resort, you can force restart your Mac if an app freezes the entire system. Press and hold the power button until your Mac shuts off, then turn it back on. This will cause any frozen apps to close without needing to go through the Force Quit window.
