Here are some tips to get rid of ants:
- Clean up any food sources and spills that may be attracting them.
- Seal any cracks or crevices where ants may be entering your home with caulk or weather stripping.
- Use diatomaceous earth or spread chalk along baseboards and around doors/windows as a barrier.
- Spray ant trails and nests with an insecticide labeled for ants.
- Place ant baits where you've seen ants to slowly poison the colony over time.
- Plant mint, lemongrass, or other scented herbs near entry points which ants dislike crossing through.
Be thorough and patient as it may take a few weeks to fully eliminate an ant colony. Being diligent about not leaving out any food sources is key to prevention as well.
