Fleas can be difficult to get rid of but following these tips should help eliminate them from your home and pets:
Wash all bedding and soft furniture
Wash all bedding, blankets, towels, and other washable fabrics in hot water (at least 130°F) and dry on the highest heat setting. This will kill any flea eggs and larvae.
Vacuum thoroughly
Be sure to vacuum everywhere, including carpets, upholstery, under furniture, and in cracks and crevices. Empty the vacuum bag or contents outside afterward to prevent fleas from reinfesting your home.
Use an insect growth regulator
Applying an insect growth regulator will prevent any remaining flea eggs from developing into adults. Look for ones containing pyriproxyfen or methoprene.
Treat your pets with a flea product
Be sure to use a vet-approved flea collar, spot-on, or oral medication designed to kill adult fleas and prevent further infestation. Repeat as directed.
