Hard boiling eggs is a simple way to cook eggs that results in a firm yolk and tender white.

  1. Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water by 1 inch.
  2. Bring water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove pan from heat, cover and let sit for 12 minutes.
  3. Drain hot water from pan and replace with cold water to stop cooking.
  4. Peel eggs under cool running water when cool enough to handle.

Hard boiled eggs can be enjoyed as a snack, in salads or used for deviled eggs. Store peeled hard boiled eggs in the fridge for up to 1 week.
