Hard boiling eggs is a simple way to cook eggs that results in a firm yolk and tender white.
- Place eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water by 1 inch.
- Bring water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove pan from heat, cover and let sit for 12 minutes.
- Drain hot water from pan and replace with cold water to stop cooking.
- Peel eggs under cool running water when cool enough to handle.
Hard boiled eggs can be enjoyed as a snack, in salads or used for deviled eggs. Store peeled hard boiled eggs in the fridge for up to 1 week.
