Making hard boiled eggs is easy and a great way to have a grab-and-go breakfast or snack. Here are the basic steps:
- Place eggs in a single layer in a pot and cover with cold water by 1 inch.
- Bring the water to a boil over high heat. Once boiling, remove the pot from the heat, cover and let sit for 12 minutes.
- Drain the hot water and rinse the eggs with cold water until cool enough to handle.
- Peel the eggs under cool running water or roll each egg on the counter to crack the shell before peeling.
- Serve whole or cut in half. Enjoy!
For best results, use eggs at room temperature and don't let boiled eggs sit for more than a week in the fridge.
