How To Make Rice?

Here are the basic steps to make rice:

  1. Rinse the rice under cool water until the water runs clear. This removes excess starch to prevent the rice from sticking together.
  2. Place the rinsed rice into a pot with the required amount of water. For white rice, use a 1 to 2 ratio of rice to water. For example, use 2 cups of water for 1 cup of rice.
  3. Bring the rice and water to a boil over high heat. Once it reaches a boil, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot with a tight fitting lid and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the water is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  4. Remove the pot from the heat and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes. This allows the rice to finish steaming.
  5. Fluff the rice with a fork before serving. You can also add ingredients like butter, seasoning or fresh herbs after cooking for extra flavor.

That's the basic process for cooking perfect rice on the stovetop. Enjoy!
