How To Make Slime With No Activator?

If you want to make slime without an activator like borax or contact lens solution, there are a few other options you can try:

  • Use corn syrup or clear maple syrup instead of glue. Start with 1/4 cup syrup and add food coloring if desired. The syrup will get sticky as you mix but won't get as stretchy as slimes with activator.
  • Make a homemade decoupage paste by mixing 1 part white school glue with 1 part water. This will be more clay-like than stretchy slime.
  • Mix Elmer's glue with a bit of lotion or conditioner instead of an activator. The lotion will make it softer but it may not get totally stretchy without an activator.
  • Use a thick shaving cream or whipped soap instead of glue as the base. Mix in food coloring and a bit of lotion or oil if needed. It will be more foam-like than slime.

Keep in mind that without an activator to trigger the "slime reaction," the texture may be more clay-like or goopy instead of truly stretchy and bouncy. Experimenting is half the fun!
