How To Manually Top Up British Gas Electric Meter?

To manually top up your British Gas electric meter, you will need a top up card which can be purchased online or from shops like post offices.

Follow these steps to top up your meter:

1. Enter your meter serial number on the back of the top up card.
2. Scratch off the silver panel on the card to reveal the PIN number.
3. Enter the PIN number into your gas or electric meter.
4. The amount you topped up will be added to your meter balance.

You can check your new meter balance by pressing a button on your meter. Make sure to keep your top up card receipt in case you need to refer back to the transaction.

Top up cards can be purchased online through British Gas or from most major retailers like corner shops, supermarkets and post offices. Cards usually have £10, £20 or £50 credit denominations. You can top up as much or as little credit as you need whenever your meter balance runs low.
