To punch in Red Dead Redemption 2, hold the left trigger (L2 on PS4/LT on Xbox One) and press the right trigger (R2 on PS4/RT on Xbox One) to throw a left hook. Alternatively, you can hold left trigger and press the face button corresponding to the punch type - square/X for jabs, triangle/Y for uppercuts, circle/B for hooks.
