To put a collar on your dog, first make sure you have the right size collar for your dog's neck. The collar should be snug but not tight. Put the collar around your dog's neck and fasten the buckle or clasp. Adjust the collar so it is high on your dog's neck, right behind their ears. Test that the collar is not too loose by being able to fit only one or two fingers under it. Be gentle and give your dog positive reinforcement as you place the collar on them for the first time so they associate it with something pleasant.
