How To Put Drawstring Back In Pants Without Safety Pin?

image

Using a long piece of string or ribbon that matches the color of the drawstring, thread one end through the waistband channel on one side. Pull it almost all the way through so there is only about 6 inches left on that side.

Then thread the other end of the string through the channel on the other side of the waistband. Pull it through until the string ends meet in the middle.

Tie the two string ends together in a double knot to secure it. Tug on the knot to make sure it's tight and won't come undone. Cut off any excess string.

The makeshift drawstring is now in place without needing safety pins. You can pull the strings to tighten the waist as needed when wearing the pants.

For a neater look, consider replacing the string later with an actual cord drawstring that more closely matches the pants.
