To raise coilovers on your vehicle, follow these steps:
- Loosen the adjusting ring or collar on each coilover with an adjustable wrench. This is usually located at the top of the shock near the spring perch.
- Cranking the adjusting ring clockwise will raise the vehicle and counterclockwise will lower it. A quarter turn at a time is usually a good increment.
- After each adjustment, drive the vehicle to settle the suspension and check the ride height with a measuring tape from the bottom of the fender to the ground. Repeat until you reach your desired height.
- Once the desired height is reached, tighten the lock ring or collar back down to secure the adjustment in place. Be sure not to overtighten.
- Repeat the process for all four shocks/struts to maintain proper ride height and handling balance.
Raising coilovers too high can cause issues with stability, handling, and wear prematurely. Go incrementally and test drive between adjustments.
