Raising roads is an important part of building an efficient transportation network in Cities Skylines. There are a few different ways to raise roads:
Using the Move It Mod
The Move It mod allows you to precisely move, rotate, and raise individual roads, paths, and other network elements. To raise a road using Move It:
- Select the road segment you want to raise
- Press the up arrow key to gradually raise the height of the road
- Use the left and right arrow keys to fine tune the elevation
Using Terrain Tools
The terrain tools in Cities Skylines let you modify the land around roads to raise their elevation. This is useful for larger scale terrain sculpting:
- Select the terrain tool
- Paint or sculpt the land around the road to raise the surrounding terrain
- This will automatically raise the road to match the new terrain height
Using Road Anchors and Pillars
Road pillars and anchors allow you to physically raise sections of road above the terrain. This is best for bridging over intersections or valleys:
- Place road anchors at the start and end points of the raised section
- Place road pillars underneath to support the elevated road
- Connect the road segment between the raised anchors
