Reclining your Graco car seat allows the seat to be at a more comfortable angle for your child during long car rides.
To recline the car seat, follow these steps:
- Loosen the harness straps by pressing the red button on the front of the seat and pulling outward on the straps.
- Locate the recline lever on the front of the seat, usually near the buckles on a Graco car seat. It will have graphics indicating positioning for upright, reclined, and sometimes middle recline positions.
- Push down on the recline lever and tilt the seat back slowly into the reclined position you desire. The most reclined setting is usually for newborns and infants.
- Check that the seat is securely locked into position by trying to move it forward and back without pushing the lever. It should not budge.
- Retighten the harness straps around your child before driving with the reclined seat.
To return the seat to its upright position, simply push the recline lever again and lift the backrest upright slowly and securely lock it back in place.
