Here are the steps to restick a Cricut cutting mat:
- Remove any scraps of vinyl or paper that may still be on the mat.
- Clean the mat surface with rubbing alcohol to remove any residue.
- Allow the mat to fully dry.
- Peel the green backing from a new sheet of transfer tape.
- Starting from one side, firmly press the sticky side of the transfer tape onto the mat surface.
- Use your hands to smooth out any air bubbles as you work your way across the entire mat surface.
- You may need to re-stick the mat occasionally as the adhesive wears down over repeated uses.
By thoroughly cleaning and carefully applying a new sheet of transfer tape, you can restick a Cricut cutting mat and continue using it for precision cuts. Just be sure the surface is completely dry before adding the new sticky layer.
