How To Restring A Ryobi Weed Eater?

Restringing a Ryobi weed eater is a simple process that only takes a few minutes. Here are the basic steps:

  1. Cut the existing line to remove the worn sections. Leave about 6 inches of line remaining on the spool.
  2. Insert one end of the new replacement line into the exit slot on the spool housing. Leave about 6 inches extending outside.
  3. Wind the new line tightly and evenly onto the spool in a figure 8 pattern until there is no more room or the line cuts off. Try to avoid winding over the same spot multiple times.
  4. Close the spool housing cover securely. Make sure it clicks into place.
  5. Feed the line out of the exit slot by pulling on the line ends until several inches extend past the head. Then, trim the line ends so they are even.
  6. Your Ryobi weed eater is now restrung and ready to use again.

Be sure to wear gloves, eye protection and follow all other safety precautions when restringing. With a few minutes of time, your Ryobi trimmer will have a fresh supply of cutting line.
