How To Restring Ryobi Weed Wacker?

Restringing your Ryobi weed wacker is an important maintenance task that will keep your tool performing at its best. Follow these steps to restring a Ryobi weed wacker:

Materials Needed

• Nylon line trimmer string
• Phillips head screwdriver

Instructions

1. Shut off the weed wacker and disconnect the power cord.
2. Locate the spool on the bottom of the trimmer head.
3. Use a Phillips head screwdriver to remove the spool cover screw.
4. Slide out the empty spool and remove any existing string.
5. Cut off a piece of new string about double the length of the spool.
6. Thread one end of the string through one of the string exit holes.
7. Wind the string tightly and evenly around the spool in a figure-eight pattern.
8. Cut off any excess string and replace the spool and cover screw.

Your Ryobi weed wacker should now be restrung and ready to use! Be sure to replace the string periodically for best performance.
