There are a few different ways to take screenshots on a Mac. Here are a few of the most common options:
Using the keyboard shortcut
The easiest way is to use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + 3. This will take a screenshot of your entire screen and save it as a PNG file on your desktop.
Taking a partial screenshot
To take a screenshot of only part of your screen, use the keyboard shortcut Command + Shift + 4. Your cursor will change to a crosshair - click and drag to select the area you want to capture.
Screenshots in the menu bar
You can also access screenshot options from the menu bar. Click the screen mirror icon in the top right, then choose "Take Screenshot" and select full screen, selection, or window. This gives you more options like screenshot format and where to save the file.
Using the screenshot utility
For more robust screenshot and annotation tools, open the Screenshot app from your Applications folder. This lets you select timers, screenshot windows, and mark up screenshots after taking them.
