How To Solve A Rubik's Cube?

Here are the basic steps to solve a Rubik's Cube:

  1. Get one face (usually white) solved. This involves recognizing the patterns of each color and rotating the sides to put the correct colors in the correct spots.
  2. Get the cross pattern solved on the opposite side (usually yellow). This involves recognizing where each center piece on that side should go and rotating to put them there.
  3. Solve the corners on the top layer. This means putting each corner piece in the correct spot around the edge pieces you've already solved.
  4. Solve the middle edges. This means putting each edge piece that connects the top and middle layers in the correct position.
  5. Permute the last layer edges. This involves recognizing patterns to rotate edges on the last layer into the correct positions.
  6. Orient the last layer corners. This means twisting corners on the last layer so that all colors match the colors of the stickers directly below them.
  7. Permute the last layer corners. This is putting each corner piece in its exact spot on the last layer to fully solve the cube.

With practice of the algorithms for each step, you'll be able to solve a Rubik's Cube consistently in under two minutes!
