How To Tie A Bow Tie?

Bow ties can look sophisticated but they can also be tricky to tie. Here are the basic steps to tie a bow tie:

1. Place the bow tie around your neck with the small end of the tie on your left and the long end on your right.
2. Cross the small end over the long end.
3. Bring the small end up and through the loop behind the long end.
4. Tighten the bow by holding the bow tie at the neck and sliding the bow portion up into position.
5. Adjust the bow so that both sides are even and the knot is positioned neatly at your neck.

Practice in front of a mirror until you feel comfortable with the motions. With a little practice, tying a bow tie will become second nature. Just remember - small end over long, up through the back loop to complete the tie.
